Garrison Clusters With Enemy Alliance

The rules of the game are supposed to be "no enemy garrison adjacent to another garrison". (This is why you can't deploy your Garrison right next to another cluster).
Having an enemy Garrison touching your cluster (immediately connected to it) will cause the movement blocking of your entire cluster to fail.
It's fine for enemy alliances to be near each other -- Just not directly connected.
It's a minor issue that wasn't causing serious problems, but it is a flaw that needs to be fixed.

ok thanks for the clarification

Map redesign required again then?? We have no suitable straight string cluster spots..... we made do with what we had, now that's not good enough?!? Instead of messing with the things we've adapted to, why not sort out a third level?? Make Ulti AH's worth the BD investment?? Instead of altering things we as players have adapted into our play.... not just HS but every alli on every server before merge.
Third layer could be circular sections, with suitable cluster locations..... only accessible through permanent fixed space ports?? Cred cost to jump through, rather than bds? Each small section have special bonuses, loot, XP of 10% etc....... no need for a full map, more variety to map??

map redesign would be badly needed.
nanos was and still are the only suitable fix (not bug)
to the semantics of map designers vs cold hard cluster design requirement mechanics.
this "minor" problem being "fixed" toys with a core mechanic

The rift map was designed with the ability to park red garries behind cluster in mind. It would have to be remade to have long enough strings without holes.

Why not kill two birds with one stone? Make one of the garri perks "deploy nanite swarm" or some such allowing a black space to be tied up. It wouldn't be a garri, so no nano benefit would accrue, but it would let us use cluster areas that aren't ideal. It could prevent rj into sectors for defense. And it would work for everyone, including smaller alliances who have trouble finding good deployment locations.

Expanding on this. Defense point. You could deploy it as your point. It's basically a set of guns that sit there and shoot anything not allied to cluster.
It needs to be researched in order to gain benefits of which you can only select a few. Like garrison perks.
If it's used on point it could spawn a slew of intradictors or plats. Or other defensive mechanisms.
You could deploy it over a sector ie.. hc hole in rift. Put it on black side to protect the HC hole from the other side.
As point it would give you some advanced warning of an impending attack.
Would be another thing to help get people playing. Eat up some credits for research.
Possible Things it Could do.
Could have options to make it shoot npcs or not.
Deploy Plats
Nova mechanism vs enemy ships or a waa effect . Once a certain number enter it triggers.
Could have it auto deploy npcs to defend the area.
All kinds of possibilities. Heck make it be free RJ/CJ/EJ from it for your alli. That way if you have your alli in rift new guys in black have a safe place to run to.
Could provide an area of effect buff for ships (you could set it back from point to provide this). It could also be used as a forward operating base for GB if you wanted. You'd lose the extra defense at cluster but it could provide are of effect buffs for attack.
make all of the things it can do require research.

This rule change is something we all need to adapt too. The best outcome now is getting two new maps, one for each layer with several 8 sector only strings.

We do not need new maps and maps do not need to be tailored to fit 8 string clusters in a line to a dead end... Just because this is how we are use to playing does not make it NEEDED.

makes it needed if everyone wants/likes it.
