The Scout Special item acts like a motion detector that allows you to see nearby ship movement. It only detects ships that have moved while you are in detection range. If you move into range of a ship that is sitting idle, it will not be detected by the Scout.

Increasing the Rarity of a Scout increases the view distance, however the Scout area can be either circular or an oval (depending on the rarity).

Estimated MAX diameters are:

  • Common: 3-4
  • Uncommon: 4
  • Rare: 4-5
  • Ultra Rare: 5-6
  • Legendary: 6
  • Precursor: 7
  • Ultimate: 7-8
