Durability

An item with 23% durability, which can be stolen

Items in The Infinite Black come with limited durability. If a player dies, the durability of all equipped items is reduced. Items with low durability can be stolen (Item Theft) by other players. Items with extremely low durability can be destroyed. An item's durability rating is represented as a percentage from 1% to 100%.

  • An item with a durability of 11%-25% can be stolen if it is equipped by a player killed by another player
    • If more than one equipped item has low durability, only one item will be stolen.
    • Stolen items' durability is automatically set to 1%
  • An item with a durability of 1%-5% will be destroyed if it is equipped by a player killed by an NPC.
  • An item with a durability of 1%-5% will be destroyed if it is equipped by a player killed by another player.
  • An item's durability can be restored in a number of ways:
    • Durability can be increased by repairing an item at Earth or at Alliance Planets at the cost of Black Dollars. See: Engineering Costs
      • The cost of repairing an item is determined by its item type and its Rarity.
      • Durability is increased by 10% by this method
    • Durability can be restored once daily by a player's corporation's Nanorobotics Technology, if enabled in the Corporation Garrison
      • if the item is equipped, OR if the item is stored in the Corporation Garrison bank.
      • Durability is increased by 1% by this method.
      • Repair occurs at the same time as Hardcore Prizes are awarded
    • Durability can be restored by an Alliance Leader using the :Repair [NAME] chat command.
      • Durability of all items equipped by the player named in the :Repair command will be increased by 1%
