Engineering Costs Formulas

The cost of engineering items is based on a number of factors

  • Engineering action
  • Type of item
  • Rarity of item
  • Ship Class of item (for computers and specials only)

Item Rarity Values

  • Common = 1 (note: Common items cannot be altered via engineering)
  • Uncommon = 2
  • Rare = 3
  • Ultra-Rare = 4
  • Legendary = 5
  • Precursor = 6
  • Ultimate = 7 (note: Ultimate items cannot be augmented)

Ship Class Values

  • Shuttle = 0
  • Corvette = 1
  • Frigate = 2
  • Destroyer = 3
  • Cruiser = 4
  • Battleship = 5
  • Dreadnought = 6
  • Titan = 7
  • Flagship = 8
  • Carrier = 9
  • Flayer = 10
  • Executioner = 11
  • Devastator = 12
  • Despoiler = 13
  • Annihilator = 14

Modify Ship class

This engineering action is available for Computers and Specials only

  • Computer = 4 * CurrentClass * Rarity
  • Special = 6 * CurrentClass * Rarity

Example: Rare Toil Tech I for Despoiler. Increase Ship Class to Annihilator

  • Type = Computer
  • Rarity = 3 (Rare)
  • Current Ship Class = 13 (Despoiler)

Cost = 4 * 13 * 3 = 156 BlackDollars

Repair Item

Repairing an item replenishes its durability by 10%

  • Weapon = Rarity * 9
  • Armor = Rarity * 8
  • Storage = Rarity * 7
  • Engine = Rarity * 24
  • Computer = Rarity * 14
  • Harvester = Rarity * 16
  • Special = Rarity * 20

Example: Repair Legendary LCD-V1

  • Type = Harvester
  • Rarity = 5 (Legendary)

Cost = 5 * 16 = 80 BlackDollars

Increase/Decrease Item Rank

This engineering action is only available for Weapons, Armors and Storage Boxes

  • Weapon = Rarity * 22
  • Armor = Rarity * 18
  • Storage = Rarity * 14

Example: Increase Ultra-Rare Storage III to Ultra-Rare Storage IV

  • Type = Storage
  • Rarity = 4 (Ultra-Rare)

Cost = 4 * 14 = 56 BlackDollars

Augment Rarity

  • Weapon = Rarity^4 * 3
  • Armor = Rarity^4 * 2.5
  • Storage = Rarity^4 * 2
  • Engine = Rarity^4 * 5
  • Computer = Rarity^4 * 3
  • Harvester = Rarity^4 * 4
  • Special = Rarity^4 * 5

Example: Augment Precursor Exoprene Shield XVII to Ultimate Exoprene Shield XVII

  • Type = Armor
  • Current Rarity = 6 (Precursor)

Cost = 6^4 * 2.5 = 3,240 BlackDollars
