Movement Cooldown is the length of time after your Ship jumps from one Sector to a connected Sector before you can jump to another connected Sector. This is expressed in terms of seconds.

Base Movement Cooldown

Base Movement Cooldown refers to a ship's Movement Cooldown when HyperDrive is turned OFF.

HyperDrive

HyperDrive, when ON, reduces your Movement Cooldown to half of your Base Movement Cooldown. HyperDrive can be toggled ON/OFF in The BlackDollar Menu, or by typing :HD in any chat.

Movement Cooldown Attribute Display

When viewing your own ship, your Movement Cooldown will change depending upon whether you have HyperDrive turned ON or OFF. When viewing another player's ship, Movement Cooldown always displays the other player's Base Movement Cooldown.

Movement Cooldown Modifier of Items

Items that modify your Movement Cooldown always express the Movement Cooldown modifier in terms of Base Movement Cooldown. For Example, a Legendary Scout decreases your Ship's Movement Cooldown by 1.0 seconds when HyperDrive is OFF, and by 0.5 seconds when HyperDrive is turned ON.
